IPTV AiSubs Privacy Policy
1. Purpose of the app
IPTV AiSubs is an Android TV application for playing IPTV streams and optionally generating real-time AI subtitles and translations. The app does not operate an IPTV service, does not provide channel lists, and does not sell user data.
2. Data handled by the app
The app may store the data needed for its operation on the device:
- playlist names, M3U URLs, Xtream Codes server data, and usernames;
- Xtream passwords and AI provider API keys encrypted with Android Keystore-backed storage;
- favorites, viewing history, channel data, and app settings;
- diagnostic logs and crash information that the user may manually share.
3. AI subtitles and third-party providers
When the AI subtitle feature is enabled, the app may send audio from the played stream and translation context to the AI provider selected by the user, such as Soniox, Gladia, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or Deepgram. These providers process the data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
The AI subtitle feature is optional. API keys are provided by the user and stored encrypted on the device.
4. Encrypted backup and restore
The user can create a password-encrypted backup file and manually store it or transfer it to another device they own. A backup may contain playlist metadata, Xtream passwords, favorites, AI settings, and API keys. The file can only be restored with the supplied password; the app does not store or recover that password.
5. Network access
The app uses internet access to load IPTV streams, M3U or Xtream playlist data, EPG data, and AI provider services. The app contains no advertising SDK and does not sell data. Optional usage and crash telemetry is processed by Google Firebase.
6. Logs and crash reports
The app may keep local diagnostic logs for troubleshooting. These logs remain on the device unless the user shares them manually through the app's sharing feature for support purposes.
The user may separately allow Firebase Analytics usage statistics and Firebase Crashlytics crash reports. This is off by default, can be declined at the first choice, and can be disabled at any time in Settings. Optional data may include general app-usage events, app and device information, crash stack traces, diagnostics, and a pseudonymous installation/app-instance identifier. Custom analytics events are not supplied with IPTV URLs or credentials, channel or programme names, searches, API keys, subtitles, or AI text. Automatic screen reporting, advertising-ID collection, and ad-personalisation signals are disabled.
Google processes this data as a service provider under the Firebase terms. Withdrawing consent stops future collection, resets the on-device Analytics identifier and local Analytics data, and deletes crash reports that have not yet been sent.
7. Retention and deletion
Data stored by the app remains on the device until the user deletes it in the app or uninstalls the app. Uninstalling the app deletes local app data according to standard Android behavior.
8. Children's privacy
IPTV AiSubs is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
